Design of programme to promote digital transformation in the healthcare sector – DigiSanté
On 4 May 2022, the Federal Council instructed the FDHA (FOPH, FSO) ‘to develop a programme to promote digital transformation in the healthcare sector in collaboration with the FCh (DTI), the EAER, the FDF, the DDPS and Digital Public Services Switzerland (DPSS). The programme and the guarantee credit required for implementation will be submitted to the Federal Council at the end of 2023 as part of a dispatch for referral to Parliament’.
The programme to promote digital transformation in the healthcare sector aims to promote an interoperable healthcare system based on a transparent data ecosystem that is accessible to all stakeholders while respecting data protection. In order to achieve this, measures within the competence of the Confederation will be implemented within the framework of the programme, and the central stakeholders of the healthcare system will be integrated into the programme and their activities coordinated. To develop national recommendations to standardise the way in which data is exchanged, an expert group on data management in the healthcare sector will be established, consisting of representatives from the Confederation, the cantons and the relevant stakeholders.
