Strengthening the Digital Governance Capacities of International Geneva

Switzerland is strengthening Geneva's role as a global hub for dialogue, analysis and capacity building in the area of digital governance. To this end, it supports platforms such as the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP), which brings together actors from diplomacy, business, academia and civil society, analyses digital policy processes and promotes capacity building in the field of internet and digital policy. Switzerland is also positioning Geneva as a central venue for international discussions on the regulation and governance of artificial intelligence (AI). By hosting the AI Summit 2027 in Geneva, Switzerland is reinforcing Geneva's role as a key location for broader international discussions on AI. This measure is in line with section 4 of the Host State Message "Governance of New Technologies".
